Gwangju Urban Corporation Holds Love Sharing Bread Baking Volunteer Activity

Delivering Handmade Bread to Vulnerable Households

Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on May 29 that it held a "Labor-Management Joint Love Sharing Bread Baking Volunteer Activity" for underprivileged children and adolescents together with local residents on May 28.

This bread baking volunteer event was organized to deliver love to children and adolescents from vulnerable groups in the region by providing them with healthy snacks. The event took place at the Gwangju Volunteer Center of the Korean Red Cross in Imdong, Bukgu, with around 10 residents from Ssangchon Siyeong Apartment and about 20 employees of the corporation participating in the bread-making activity, spending meaningful time together. The bread made during the event will be delivered to households from vulnerable groups in the local community.

Participants in the event shared their thoughts, saying, "Although it may be a small gesture, we felt a great sense of fulfillment knowing that it could be a source of strength for someone."

Kim Seungnam, President of Gwangju Urban Corporation, stated, "In May, the month of family, I wanted to deliver a small comfort and love to adolescents who need the warmth of family," and emphasized, "We will continue to carry out various sharing activities together with the local community in the future."

Meanwhile, the corporation plans to continue taking the lead in providing emotional and material support to underprivileged groups in the region through regular sharing and volunteer activities.
