According to fire authorities on the 29th, a fire broke out on the second floor of a motel in Dongmun-dong, Seosan City, at 9:33 p.m. the previous day, leaving one person dead and 17 injured.
The fire authorities issued Level 1 response, which mobilizes all local fire stations, and managed to extinguish the blaze completely in one hour and 24 minutes.
Seosan City also sent out a disaster alert message, stating, "A fire in the motel building is producing a large amount of smoke. Please close your windows and detour vehicles around the area."
The fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
