Naju City in South Jeolla Province inspected the preparations for early voting stations ahead of the 21st presidential election, which will take place over two days starting on May 29.

On May 28, one day before early voting began, the city announced that it had visited the Bitgaram-dong early voting station to conduct an on-site inspection and to make a final check of the preparations to ensure that citizens can participate in voting safely and conveniently.

The inspection focused on the early voting station set up in the main auditorium of the annex building of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation in Bitgaram-dong. Officials carefully examined the arrangement of voting booths, the flow of movement, accessibility for people with disabilities, and the overall environment of the polling station.

In particular, Mayor Yoon Byungtae personally checked for the presence of illegal surveillance cameras, an issue of growing public concern, and urged on-site staff to ensure thorough security, saying, "Please do your utmost so that citizens can exercise their valuable rights with peace of mind."

This on-site inspection was conducted jointly by the Naju City Election Commission and relevant city departments, with a special focus on security items such as the presence of illegal recording devices inside the voting booths.

The 21st presidential election early voting will be held from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 29 and 30. Anyone with identification can participate at any polling station nationwide, regardless of their registered address.

Naju City will operate a total of 20 early voting stations, one in each eup, myeon, and dong district. The locations can be found on the Naju City website.

Mayor Yoon Byungtae stated, "Early voting is a practical system for those who may have difficulty voting on the main election day. As each precious vote is the starting point for building a better community and nation, I hope everyone will actively exercise their rights as democratic citizens by participating conveniently in the voting process."
