Yeonggwang County, South Jeolla Province recently held a kickoff meeting for the "Yeonggwang-type Kids Cafe Construction Feasibility Study and Basic Plan Establishment Service" in the county office's small conference room. The meeting was attended by the county governor, department heads, officials from related organizations, and other stakeholders, totaling about 30 people.
This project is a new pledge by the Yeonggwang County Governor, designed to provide a safe and creative play space for children in the region and to create an environment that eases the childcare burden on parents.
In his opening remarks, Governor Jang Seil stated, "Today marks a meaningful first step toward 'Raising Yeonggwang Together,' where children's laughter becomes brighter and family life warmer. After much consideration on how to create a complex play space where children can play safely regardless of climate or season and parents can participate as well, this idea has now become a promise to our residents. I believe the various opinions presented at today's meeting will serve as a practical direction for the future of this project."
This service will be carried out over approximately five months until October and will include: analysis of local demand and population changes; determination of facility functions and scale; selection of an appropriate site; development of operational methods and program composition; and analysis of economic and policy feasibility.
A Yeonggwang County official stated, "Through this service, we will reflect the voices of our residents and complete a concrete blueprint for the Yeonggwang-type Kids Cafe tailored to the characteristics of our region."
