Lotte Mart Guri Branch Set to Open;
142 Projects Across 10 Sectors,
100 Completed So Far with a 70.4% Fulfillment Rate

According to Guri City on May 28, the city conducted the second on-site inspection of its pledged projects on May 27 under the leadership of Mayor Baek Kyunghyun. This inspection followed the first inspection held on May 19 and aimed to verify the actual operational status of completed pledged projects and address any shortcomings.
On this day, Mayor Baek Kyunghyun visited the sites of five projects in succession to check their implementation status: the reintroduction of a large-scale mart within Guri Wholesale Market, the installation and operation of an observatory at Inchang Library, the creation of a dedicated sports space for seniors, the establishment of a park golf course within the Acheon Rainwater Pump Station reservoir, and the construction of the Bang Jeonghwan Library.
'Lotte Mart Guri Branch' is scheduled to open on June 26. The inspection was attended by Mayor Baek Kyunghyun, relevant city department staff, and representatives from Lotte Mart. They reviewed the remodeling progress, which is currently about 72% complete, and engaged in in-depth discussions on areas needing improvement to ensure that citizens do not experience inconvenience when using the parking lot and other facilities.
'Lotte Mart Guri Branch' will be the second location of 'Grand Grocery,' a grocery store format, following the opening of the Eunpyeong Branch last year. The first floor will house fresh produce, meat, and seafood sections, as well as daily necessities, while the second floor will feature a cultural center and a franchise buffet. The total size of the facility is 14,495 square meters (4,385 pyeong).
Mayor Baek Kyunghyun stated, "Many citizens who have experienced inconvenience due to the absence of a large-scale corporate mart are paying close attention to the reopening of Lotte Mart, and we will spare no effort in providing the necessary administrative support over the next month."

In addition, Mayor Baek Kyunghyun also conducted an inspection of the operation of the Acheon Rainwater Pump Station to prepare for heavy rainfall during the summer, ensuring there are no gaps in disaster response. He emphasized, "Administration should not be a plan on paper, but something that is implemented alongside citizens," and added, "I will continue to fulfill pledges together with citizens, always viewing them as 'evolving promises.'"
Currently, the 8th popularly elected Guri City government has a total of 142 pledged projects, of which 100 have been completed, resulting in a fulfillment rate of 70.4%. The projects inspected this time span various fields, including education, welfare, sports, and daily convenience, and are expected to have a direct impact on citizens' lives, with high utilization rates and significant contributions to improving local conditions.
Mayor Baek Kyunghyun emphasized, "Pledges are the most fundamental promises made by the mayor to citizens," and added, "The fulfillment of pledges should not be evaluated by numbers or publicity, but by the actual changes in citizens' lives." He also gathered citizen feedback during site visits and worked with staff to seek solutions for operational issues that may arise.
Meanwhile, Guri City has demonstrated outstanding performance nationwide by achieving the highest SA grade for two consecutive years in the '2025 National Evaluation of Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure by Heads of Local Governments,' organized by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.
