Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on May 28 that, starting June 1, it will designate and operate "Dongtan Jeilkeun Pharmacy," located at 760 Bansong-dong, as a public late-night pharmacy.
A public late-night pharmacy is a pharmacy that operates 365 days a year to address the inconvenience of purchasing medicines during late-night hours, when access to medical care is limited.
With this additional designation, the number of public late-night pharmacies in Hwaseong has increased to a total of seven: Gongdan Sijang Pharmacy (Mado-myeon), Nice Oseo Pharmacy (Ujeong-eup), Sangsin Dream Pharmacy (Hyangnam-eup), Easy Pharmacy (Yeongcheon-dong), Parang Pharmacy (Sancheok-dong), Dongtan Jeilkeun Pharmacy (Bansong-dong), and Good Morning Pharmacy (Gibae-dong).
These pharmacies are open during late-night hours from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. the following day. Among them, Gongdan Sijang Pharmacy, which is a Hwaseong-type public late-night pharmacy, operates until 8:00 a.m. the next day.
Moonja Hwaseong City Dongtan Public Health Center Director stated, "With the additional designation of public late-night pharmacies, more citizens will be able to conveniently purchase medicines nearby even during late-night hours," adding, "We will continue to strengthen the nighttime emergency medical system based on public-private cooperation to protect citizens' right to health."
