On May 28, Bando Construction announced that it had signed a business agreement (MOU) with Hankwang Information and Communication to jointly develop an artificial intelligence (AI) closed-circuit television (CCTV) system equipped with real-time fire and safety monitoring functions.
The AI CCTV system jointly developed by Bando Construction and Hankwang Information and Communication operates by analyzing signs of fire?such as smoke and flames captured by the camera?using an AI fire detection algorithm to diagnose and warn of fires. Because the system is installed throughout the entire parking area, including zones equipped with electric vehicle charging facilities, it can also monitor fires occurring in general areas in real time.
If a fire breaks out in the underground parking lot, the AI CCTV system detects it and immediately triggers a monitor popup and warning sound in the control room, helping to secure the golden time for fire suppression.
In addition, if control room staff are absent, the system simultaneously sends warning signals to the responsible person's mobile device, enabling a swift response. As the system is integrated into the parking guidance lights, it can monitor without blind spots and detect fires involving general vehicles or other incidents within parking areas.
Jeongryeol Lee, Head of Construction Division at Bando Construction, stated, "Since rapid detection and response are crucial in minimizing damage from fires in underground parking lots, we expect this AI CCTV system to significantly improve the efficiency of initial response. We will continue to pursue win-win management and technological development with our partners to ensure customer safety and prevent further damage."
Meanwhile, after the completion of technology development, Bando Construction and Hankwang Information and Communication plan to jointly register a patent for the technology and sequentially introduce it to new Bando Ubora complexes.
