Geumcheon District Recruiting Companies for 'CES 2026' to Support Overseas Market Expansion

Applications Open Until June 18... Final Five Companies to Be Selected for CES Participation Support, Post-Exhibition Management, and Company Support Grant of 4 Million KRW

Geumcheon District Recruiting Companies for 'CES 2026' to Support Overseas Market Expansion

Geumcheon District in Seoul (District Mayor Yoo Seonghun) announced on May 28 that it will begin recruiting companies based in Geumcheon District that wish to participate in the 'Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026,' which will be held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 6 to 9 next year.

CES is the world’s largest ICT convergence exhibition, organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) of the United States.

This initiative aims to strengthen export competitiveness and revitalize the local economy by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in the district that are struggling to secure overseas sales channels, enabling them to participate in globally recognized international exhibitions.

Initially, the district will select 10 companies through a screening process among the applicants and provide them with 1 million KRW in participation fees for the CES Innovation Awards and consulting services related to the awards. The 'CES Innovation Awards' are presented annually at CES to recognize innovative and outstanding technologies, products, and services.

Last year, companies from Geumcheon District such as AFS and Otiton Medical won CES Innovation Awards, thereby demonstrating their competitiveness and achieving multiple contract results.

The district will conduct an additional screening among the companies that received support for the CES Innovation Awards in the first round, ultimately selecting five final companies. These companies will participate in the Geumcheon G-Valley Pavilion within Eureka Park at CES 2026. Eureka Park is a global startup exhibition stage that requires approval from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) for entry.

The district will provide participating companies with pre-exhibition training, on-site operational support, and comprehensive post-exhibition management. In addition to covering exhibition participation costs such as booth installation fees, the district will also provide a separate company support grant of 4 million KRW.

The application period runs until June 18. Eligible applicants are small and medium-sized enterprises based in Geumcheon District that are either startups established within the past five years or companies that have launched their first product after January 1, 2025. Details on the selection criteria and the announcement can be found on the Geumcheon District Office website.

The district is currently operating a support program for group participation of local small and medium-sized enterprises in overseas exhibitions to help them break into overseas markets. It will also support 10 companies participating in the Lifestyle Week Health & Beauty Expo in Tokyo, Japan, which will be held for three days from July 2 to 4.

A district official stated, "We hope that this support for CES participation will serve as a stepping stone for Geumcheon District companies to expand globally," adding, "We expect this to stabilize livelihoods and promote local economic development by strengthening export competitiveness."

Yoo Seonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon District, said, "This is an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises in Geumcheon District to have their technological capabilities recognized on the global stage," and added, "We will continue to provide multifaceted support to local companies to enhance their competitiveness in the global market."
