Sacheon City Holds "1st Aerospace Day Ceremony"

Reaffirming the Significance of a National Commemorative Day

Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that the "1st Aerospace Day Ceremony" was held at the Korea Aerospace Administration headquarters.


This ceremony was organized to commemorate both the first anniversary of the opening of the Korea Aerospace Administration and the designation of the national commemorative day. With key figures from the domestic aerospace industry in attendance, Acting President Lee Jooho participated and shared a vision for the future of Korea's aerospace industry befitting the status of a national commemorative day.


Sacheon City also prepared a variety of related events in conjunction with the ceremony, further fueling local enthusiasm for aerospace.

On the 4th, a water rocket competition for youth from across the country was held at Sacheon Sports Complex, providing a unique experience for participants to showcase creativity and scientific imagination. On the 27th, an orchestra comprised of people with disabilities held the "Hope Concert," which moved and inspired citizens.


Additionally, programs hosted by the Korea Aerospace Administration will continue. From the 28th to the 30th, the "1st Space Camp" will take place in both Sacheon and Goheung, and there are also plans for an "Aerospace Talk Concert" and an exhibition of award-winning entries from the astrophotography contest.


The various associated events are designed to inspire dreams of aerospace and provide hands-on experiences.


Sacheon City has played a core role in the national aerospace industry, including attracting the Korea Aerospace Administration and promoting the construction of an aerospace complex city. Through this ceremony and related events, it has once again proven its status as the "Aerospace Capital of Korea."


The city plans to continue its efforts to become the "Toulouse of Asia."


Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "Sacheon now stands at the starting point for another leap forward as the center of Korea's aerospace industry," and added, "It is meaningful that, through this ceremony and related events, all citizens can dream of the future of aerospace together and that Sacheon's potential can be showcased nationwide."


He further emphasized, "We will do our utmost to ensure that Sacheon establishes itself as a leading city in the development of Korea's aerospace industry, including the creation of an aerospace complex city."
