Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Hokwon) announced that it will operate emergency "temporary free shuttle buses" in response to the city bus strike scheduled for May 28 in Seoul.

Starting at 6 a.m. on May 28, the district will immediately deploy 12 buses with a capacity of 45 passengers each, operating three circular routes connecting areas where city buses will not be running and major subway stations.

The shuttle routes are as follows: Route 1, Seonyudo Station~Dangsan Station~Yeongdeungpo Market Station~Yeongdeungpo Station; Route 2, Mullae Station~Gukhwa Apartment~Mullae Middle School (Mullae-dong circular route); Route 3, Boramae Station~Air Force Hotel~Saetgang Station~Yeouido Station. Up to two buses will be assigned to each route.

The temporary buses will operate on a limited basis from May 28 to May 30, running every 20 to 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. During commuting hours, bus frequency will be increased to help alleviate traffic congestion.

One public official will be assigned to each bus to provide guidance on routes and boarding and alighting. Detailed operation information can be found on the district office website and official social media channels. For other inquiries, contact the district's Transportation Administration Division.

The district has activated an emergency response headquarters from May 27, monitoring traffic conditions 24 hours a day and making every effort to minimize inconvenience for residents in preparation for the Seoul city bus strike.

Choi Hokwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, "We will mobilize all available resources to minimize transportation inconvenience for residents," and added, "We also ask that you use alternative transportation options such as village buses and the subway."
