Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital (Director Ryu Youngwook) and Keimyung University Gyeongju Dongsan Hospital (Director Lee Kyungseop) announced on May 27 that they have both been designated as official cooperation hospitals for the '2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit,' which will be held in Gyeongju this October. With both hospitals designated simultaneously, Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center will play a pivotal role in establishing a medical safety net during the summit.
Gyeongbuk Province and Gyeongju City have selected major medical institutions in Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Busan, and Ulsan as medical cooperation hospitals to ensure the successful operation of the APEC Summit. Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital received high marks for its extensive experience in medical support, emergency response systems, and infectious disease management capabilities. Gyeongju Dongsan Hospital was also designated as a key site for on-site response due to its proximity to the summit venue.

The two hospitals will establish a joint response system to prepare for possible emergencies during the summit and will also strengthen their infrastructure for treating foreign patients and their multilingual medical guidance systems.
Ryu Youngwook, director of Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital, stated, "Through a dual support system connecting Daegu and Gyeongju, we will contribute to the successful hosting of this national event and faithfully fulfill our responsibilities with the medical capabilities possessed by Dongsan Hospital."
Meanwhile, the 2025 APEC Summit is a large-scale international event that will be attended by about 20,000 leaders and delegations from 21 countries, including the United States, China, and Russia. To ensure the stable operation of the summit, 24 medical cooperation institutions have been designated.
