According to the legal community on May 27, Lee Seongbok, the presiding judge of the Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 2, has scheduled the first hearing for the damages lawsuit filed by 104 citizens for June 27.

Previously, the "Preparatory Group for the Compensation Lawsuit Regarding Yoon Sukyeol’s Acts of Insurrection" filed the lawsuit on December 10 of last year, claiming that former President Yoon had neglected his duty to guarantee the people’s right to life and freedom, resulting in psychological harm. The group is seeking 100,000 won per person in damages. The preparatory group was organized by attorney Lee Geumgyu, who represented the National Assembly during the impeachment trial of former President Yoon. Attorney Lee is representing the plaintiffs in this case.

Initially, the court intended to proceed with public notice service because the lawsuit documents could not be delivered to former President Yoon's side due to reasons such as "recipient not present." Public notice service is a system in which documents are posted for a certain period and considered delivered when the recipient's address is unknown or the recipient does not accept the documents. Subsequently, after the legal representative for former President Yoon received the documents, a new hearing date was set.
