Anesthesia equipment donated to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Chonnam National University by local private animal hospitals.
Chonnam National University announced on the 27th that its College of Veterinary Medicine has set a model example of mutual growth by receiving the donation of high-value anesthesia equipment through trust-based cooperation with local private animal hospitals, thereby improving both practical training and clinical environments.
This equipment donation was achieved through close communication between Lee Bongju, Director of Chonnam National University Animal Hospital, and Park Seungjo, Professor of Veterinary Radiology, and private hospitals. In a situation where securing practical training equipment is challenging, this donation is being recognized as a realistic alternative that supports both education and clinical practice.
At the handover ceremony held on May 19 at Park Namyong Hall of Chonnam National University Animal Hospital, Noah Animal Medical Center 24 and Gwangju SKY Animal Medical Center 24 each donated high-performance anesthesia equipment.
Noah Animal Medical Center 24 donated equipment (GE Medical Systems '9100c NXT') that allows for precise monitoring of vital signs and stable maintenance of anesthesia during MRI procedures. This equipment features an intuitive touchscreen interface, respiratory monitoring, and carbon dioxide and oxygen concentration measurement functions, making it highly useful in actual clinical settings. The value of the donated equipment amounts to approximately 30 million KRW.
Gwangju SKY Animal Medical Center 24 donated equipment (Beijing Eternity 'Am852-Bvet') that supports stable gas anesthesia during CT scans and surgeries. With smooth gas circulation and adaptability to various environments, this equipment is useful for both education and clinical care.
Lee Bongju, Director of the Animal Hospital, stated, "All the donated equipment is ready for immediate use in actual clinical settings and will be extremely useful not only for students' practical training but also in advanced imaging diagnostic environments," adding, "This donation goes beyond simply acquiring equipment; it is a meaningful example of realizing ongoing cooperation and mutual growth with local hospitals."
Meanwhile, the two hospitals that participated in this donation have consistently shown interest in the advancement of local veterinary medicine. Noah Animal Medical Center 24 previously donated development funds to Gyeongsang National University, and CEO Yang Hayoung has continually participated in overseas veterinary medical volunteer activities. Gwangju SKY Animal Medical Center 24 has also served as a bridge between clinical practice and education by cooperating with local educational institutions.
