Creating a Mishmash by Gathering Figures Like Lee Nakyon and Jeon Kwanghoon
Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform New Party, stated on May 27, "There will be no unification of candidates with those responsible for the martial law in this election. I will fight to the end and ultimately win."
On the afternoon of the same day, Lee held an emergency press conference in front of the National Assembly Communication Center in Yeouido and said, "There is no longer any justification left to choose Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party. Now, I ask the people to make a decision for the Republic of Korea."
Lee said, "All members of the People Power Party know well that Kim Moonsoo cannot defeat Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea. However, the reason they persist is because, for them, securing party leadership is more important than winning the election."
Lee criticized Kim Moonsoo, saying he is "a candidate who has nothing to offer except for candidate unification." He pointed out, "Kim Moonsoo became a candidate by pledging to unify with Prime Minister Han Ducksoo, but as soon as he achieved his goal, he ignored that promise. Even after becoming the People Power Party's candidate, he has been endlessly insisting on unification with me, continuing to gaslight the public."

Lee questioned, "Aside from gaining a rebound effect by exposing Lee Jaemyung's incompetence, ignorance, and intellect, what exactly has Kim Moonsoo achieved on his own? Other than the video circulating of him tearfully asking for Pastor Jeon Kwanghoon to be released, what vision for national governance has Kim Moonsoo shown?"
He further criticized, "Are you making a hodgepodge by gathering strange elements like Lee Nakyon and Jeon Kwanghoon, who should have disappeared into history, under the banner of being 'anti-Lee Jaemyung'?"
Lee stated, "There is Kim Moonsoo, who, after reaching his peak in the polls based on his fixed support, now has nowhere to go but down. And there is me, Lee Junseok, who has enough momentum to push ahead and ultimately overtake Lee Jaemyung."
Lee also said, "The People Power Party, a party responsible for martial law, is not qualified to field a candidate in this presidential election. There is only one way to stop the corrupt Goliath Lee Jaemyung, who holds 189 seats in the National Assembly: an overwhelmingly new David must step forward, and both the martial law forces and the populist forces must be swept away."
