Korean Reinsurance announced on the 27th that its executives and employees participated in volunteer activities at the Habitat Builders School in Cheonan, Chungnam, for two days from the 22nd to the 23rd, as part of the "Mobile Housing Support Project for Youth Preparing for Independence."

This volunteer activity was part of a social contribution initiative in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Korea, with the Korean Re Volunteer Group taking part in the production of "Haihome."

The homes produced by the Korean Re Volunteer Group will be transported to Yeonggwang, Jeonnam, and provided to young people preparing for independence, as well as to youths returning to rural areas or starting farming. This initiative is expected to help establish a foundation for settlement in regions at risk of depopulation, and to support young people in becoming self-reliant and building social networks.

Won Jongkyu, president of Korean Re, who personally participated in the volunteer work, stated, "For young people with insufficient economic means, housing is the first step toward independence and the foundation for pursuing their dreams." He added, "I hope this activity, which fills the gaps in housing welfare, will provide even a small amount of support for young people as they embark on a new beginning."

Since 2013, Korean Re has continued to support and volunteer for neighbors in need of housing by cooperating with Habitat for Humanity Korea for 13 consecutive years. Except during the COVID-19 period, executives and employees have participated in person every year, adding meaning to the volunteer work. This year as well, about 50 executives and employees are scheduled to participate in a total of three volunteer activities in the first half of the year.
