Hampyeong County Selected for Jeonnam Smart Farming Complex Project
Secures 3 Billion Won to Support Young Farmers with Rental-Type Smart Farms
On May 27, Hampyeong County in Jeonnam announced that it will establish rental-type smart farms to help young farmers secure income sources and settle stably in the region.
Hampyeong County was finally selected for the '2025 Jeonnam Smart Farming Complex Project,' which is overseen by Jeonnam Province, and has secured a total project budget of 3 billion won.
The 'Jeonnam Smart Farming Complex Project' aims to overcome the risk of rural depopulation by creating rental-type smart farm complexes and other facilities that allow young farmers to settle in the area stably.
Hampyeong County plans to build a 6,600-square-meter rental-type smart farm greenhouse in Suho-ri, Hampyeong-eup, and will implement various policies to support young farmers.
This project is part of the 'Hampyeong Future Regional Development Vision Project.' It is expected to serve as the starting point for establishing rental-type smart farm complexes that will promote sustainable agricultural development and revitalize the local economy. The county plans to continue expanding smart farms in the future.
Lee Sangik, the Governor of Hampyeong County, said, "We expect that expanding rental-type smart farms and social infrastructure will provide young people with opportunities to start new lives in agriculture and rural areas," adding, "We will continue to develop various policies to support young farmers."
