Gwangyang City in South Jeolla Province has announced that it recommends the "Korea Summer Accommodation Sale Festa" as a great tip for enjoying a budget-friendly summer trip to Gwangyang, where visitors can experience the four major valleys of Baegunsan Mountain, Gwangyang Bulgogi, Gwangyang Gijeongtteok, and other summer culinary hotspots.
The Korea Summer Accommodation Sale Festa is a project promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to revitalize regional tourism. It presents a perfect opportunity to visit Gwangyang, which many have hesitated to travel to due to the long distance.
The "Regional Special Edition," which will be the first to launch starting on May 28, offers a discount of 50,000 won on accommodation bookings of 70,000 won or more. This promotion will run for three days until May 30.
Accommodation discount coupons will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis through designated online travel agency channels starting at 10:00 a.m. on May 28, with a limit of one coupon per person. Issued coupons must be used to complete accommodation reservations and payments between 10:00 a.m. each day and 7:00 a.m. the following day. If not used, the coupon will automatically expire, and a new coupon can be issued starting the next day.
During the "Main Edition," which runs from June 2 to July 17, a discount coupon of 20,000 won will be provided for accommodation bookings between 20,000 won and less than 70,000 won, and a coupon of 30,000 won will be provided for bookings of 70,000 won or more, targeting non-metropolitan areas including Gwangyang.
The eligible stay period for both the "Regional Special Edition" and the "Main Edition" is from June 5 to July 17. If the discount coupon from the "Regional Special Edition" is used, the coupon for the "Main Edition" cannot be issued for the same person.
In particular, when choosing Gwangyang in the "Main Edition," where discounts are applied on a tiered basis, travelers are advised to first browse the available accommodation options, download the appropriate discount coupon based on the accommodation price, and then make a reservation.
