An Interactive Port Festival
Celebrated Since 2008, Marking Its 18th Edition This Year

At the end of May, Busan Port transforms into a lively festival scene as numerous celebrations take place.

Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced that it will host the 18th Busan Port Festival for two days starting on May 30.

This year’s festival, co-hosted with Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, will be held at various locations including the outdoor parking lot of the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, Bukhang Waterside Park, and the National Maritime Museum in Yeongdo. This year, Hallyu content such as a K-POP concert has been added in connection with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Hallyu cultural event, "MyK FESTA."

On the first day of the festival, starting at 10:00 a.m. on May 30, the K-POP Expo will kick off at the outdoor parking lot of the International Passenger Terminal. Entertainment companies will participate to showcase the latest technologies integrated into the K-POP industry. From 11:30 a.m., a K-POP conference will be held at the Wyndham Grand Busan Hotel, focusing on the future of artificial intelligence and the music industry.

From 6:40 p.m., the opening ceremony and a K-POP concert will take place. Super Junior-D&E, CNBLUE, N.Flying, ITZY, Kyungseo, Dori, and Jo Jjaezu will perform on stage. At 9:30 p.m., the Busan Port fireworks show will mark the climax of the opening day.

On May 31, a variety of events will be held throughout Bukhang Waterside Park, including K-POP cover dance performances, classical and jazz busking, the global cultural experience event "Global Port Park," boat tours, and traditional boat model-making experiences. A children’s writing and drawing contest organized by the Busan Maritime Federation will also take place.

At the National Maritime Museum in Yeongdo and the nearby Korea Coast Guard pier, visitors can enjoy experiences such as harbor tour boats, open house events for large Coast Guard vessels, and the "Marine Mission Stamp Tour" that visits various marine cluster institutions.

Song Sanggeun, president of BPA, stated, "The Busan Port Festival is a citizen-participatory port festival where the sea, city, people, and port come together," adding, "We will do our best to reaffirm the status of Korea as a maritime capital and to make the port more accessible to citizens."
