Practical Training Focused on Accident Prevention and On-Site Response Capacity Enhancement
On May 26, Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province conducted the "2025 Summer Water Safety Guardian Capacity-Building Training" for water safety guardians at the Gyeongbuk Second Motorboat License Test Center in Andong City.
Yeongju City is conducting capacity-building training for water safety guardians during the summer season.
A total of 22 people participated in the training, including 20 water safety guardians for 2025 and 2 staff members from Yeongju City's Safety and Disaster Division. The training included both theoretical and practical sessions on first aid, work guidelines, and hands-on education focused on performing basic duties.
The training was structured as a systematic program simulating real-life situations, with an emphasis on strengthening the ability to respond quickly and accurately in the event of water-related accidents.
Starting with this training, Yeongju City will officially begin operating its summer water safety guardians from June 21 to August 31. The guardians will conduct on-site patrols, safety management, and accident prevention activities at 10 key locations: Geumseonjeong, Namwoncheon, Geumgaechon, Mirimgyo, Sudogyo, Museomgyo, Yeongjugyo, Yukgakjeong, Second Gaheunggyo, Hanjeonggyo, and Seocheongyo.
A city official stated, "Water safety guardians play a very important role in protecting the lives and safety of citizens in waterfront areas during the summer season," and emphasized, "We will do our best to ensure that citizens can enjoy water activities with peace of mind by focusing on field-oriented preventive activities and safety management."
