Imsil County in North Jeolla Province announced on May 27 that it will hold a 'Shooting Experience Event at Our Neighborhood Cheese Olympics' for visitors, in celebration of the 2025 Year of Visiting Imsil.
The main event of this Cheese Olympics is shooting at the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Comprehensive Shooting Range, located in Cheongung-myeon.
The participation period runs until the end of November this year, and only non-residents of Imsil County are eligible to apply. To participate, applicants must follow or subscribe to Imsil County’s official social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, or the YouTube channel ImsilN TV), and then try the 10-meter air pistol shooting experience at the range. Participants must score at least 70 points out of a possible 109 points with 10 shots.
To enter, participants should scan the QR code on the banner located inside the shooting range, fill out the Naver form with their name, address, and contact information, and upload one screenshot as proof of following the social media account and one photo of the scoreboard showing their achieved shooting score. Prizes consist of an Imsil cheese and yogurt set worth 30,000 won, which will be sent to the addresses provided by randomly selecting 30 winners each month.
The county is also offering a variety of attractions and activities to captivate visitors’ senses, including unique year-round festivals and beautiful seasonal flower plantings at major tourist sites such as the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge, Bung-eo Island Ecological Park, Imsil Cheese Theme Park, Seongsusan Mountain, Osu Uigyeon Tourist Site, and Sasandae.
Currently, a large number of tourists are flocking to enjoy the spring flower festival at Bung-eo Island Ecological Park in Okjeongho, and the rose garden at Imsil Cheese Theme Park is also preparing to welcome visitors as the blooming season approaches.
Various festival programs are also being prepared, including the Aqua Festival in the upcoming summer, the ImsilN Cheese Festival featuring ten million chrysanthemum blooms in the fall, and the Santa Festival in winter.
The county is also running an accommodation support program that offers a 30% discount on lodging fees, up to a maximum of 50,000 won. In addition, customized tour programs such as university student familiarization tours and influencer tours of Imsil are underway.
County Governor Shim Min stated, "We have prepared this event to provide special memories for outside visitors during the 2025 Year of Visiting Imsil," and added, "We will continue to strive to increase visitor satisfaction by offering a wide variety of rich and diverse events."
