Gangbuk District Mayor Soonhee Lee: "Voting Is the Most Powerful Right of the People"... Encourages Voter Participation

Gangbuk District in Seoul has launched an active campaign to encourage voter participation ahead of the 21st presidential election, which will be held on June 3. The district is conducting a multifaceted promotional effort utilizing both online and offline media to ensure that residents can cast their valuable votes.

The district has installed banners and signs at locations with high foot traffic, such as the district office, community centers, Suyu Station, and Mia Sageori Station. In addition, voter encouragement videos are being broadcast through government promotional video platforms, including IPTV.


Information about polling stations and the election schedule is being shared on the district office’s website and blog, while online promotion is also being carried out through the district’s official social media channels, including YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.


Gangbuk District is encouraging voting through its text message notification service, and on both the early voting days and the main election day, informational broadcasts will be made to 52 apartment complexes within the district.


Soonhee Lee, Mayor of Gangbuk District, stated, "Voting is a way to realize the precious values of democracy and is a powerful right held by the people. I hope that all residents will exercise their valuable vote so that we can move toward a better future together for ourselves and our families."
