Hamyang County Launches Jirisan Wellness and Workation Product Advancement Support Project

Recruiting Private Businesses for Participation
Travel Trends Shifting Toward Localism

Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on May 27 that it is recruiting private businesses to participate in the ongoing "Jirisan Wellness and Workation Product Advancement Support Project."

Recently, tourism trends have shifted away from simple visit-oriented travel toward wellness and healing trips that focus on restoring the body and mind, customized programs tailored to individual lifestyles, and "localism"-centered travel that values unique local nature, culture, and cuisine.

Hamyang County possesses a wide range of resources that align with these trends, including pristine natural landscapes, ecological assets, traditional culture, and healthy local food. However, some existing tourism businesses are experiencing weakened competitiveness due to outdated content, operational limitations, and a lack of diverse experiences.

The "Jirisan Wellness and Workation Product Advancement Support Project" is designed to provide consulting services to wellness and workation facilities that are struggling due to aging infrastructure and a lack of attractive tourism content. Through this initiative, the county will assess the operational status of participating businesses and use the findings to develop action plans for upgrading tourism content to match current trends and strengthening the capabilities of business operators.

The recruitment categories include wellness program businesses (such as wellness experiences, yoga, meditation, forest healing, education, cafes, tea houses, and more) and workation operation businesses. The main support areas are ① customized consulting and ② capacity-building education. Applications are open until June.
