Lee Jae Myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated, "Yoon Suk Yeol could become the kingmaker and, through Kim Moon Soo, monopolize South Korea once again, turning the country into a place where the government frequently points its guns at the people."
At a campaign rally held in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province on May 26, Lee said, "Depending on your choices, the forces behind the rebellion could return," making these remarks.
He continued, "Shouldn't we prevent such a situation?" and emphasized, "We must build a truly democratic country where no one can ever dream of rebellion or a military coup again."
Earlier that day, at a campaign event in Suwon, Lee also called for voter support, saying, "On the June 3 election, anti-historical and anti-democratic forces behind the rebellion could return."
He argued, "If a presidential candidate who cannot deny the leader of the rebellion becomes president, and Yoon Suk Yeol returns as the de facto ruler of South Korea, we must prevent this regression of history."
He added, "For ourselves, and for the future and lives of our children, we must never allow their return or the restoration of the rebellion forces by Yoon Suk Yeol," and said, "It is only natural to strike and judge the rebellion forces."
Lee Jae Myung asked, "Did we not experience firsthand on December 3 last year how a greedy, violent, and irresponsible power-holder can ruin South Korea?" and appealed, "Let us create a hopeful nation through Lee Jae Myung, a competent and loyal presidential candidate who is devoted to the people."
