43 Agenda Items Submitted at Yeoju City Council, Including 15 Ordinances Proposed by Council Members
One-Day Honorary Chairperson Attends Plenary Session to Expand Citizen Participation
Yeoju City Council in Gyeonggi Province, chaired by Park Duhyung, opened the "74th Yeoju City Council 1st Regular Meeting" on May 26, launching a full-scale legislative session that will run for a total of 33 days until June 27.

However, due to the 21st presidential election scheduled for June 3 during the session, the council will be in recess until June 4. Afterward, from June 5, schedules such as the Special Committee on Shared Property Management Plan Review will resume.
During this regular meeting, a total of 43 agenda items will be submitted, including 15 ordinances proposed by council members, 1 rule proposal, 13 ordinances submitted by the executive branch, 3 consent items, and 1 request for opinion. In-depth deliberations are expected to take place across a wide range of areas, including social welfare, urban planning, safety, and administration.
In his opening remarks, Park Duhyung stated, "Yeoju City is laying the foundation for regional development, with the proclamation of 2025 as the Year of Tourism and the opening of the suspension bridge." He emphasized, "Through this regular meeting, we will continue in-depth discussions on improving the quality of life for citizens and on all aspects of municipal administration."
He continued, "Council member research groups are actively operating, focusing on issues such as the revision of the Hangang Water System Act, improvement of overlapping regulations, and agricultural policies based on fair trade. We will continue to pursue professional and advanced legislative activities."
Meanwhile, to expand citizen participation, Yeoju City Council introduced the "One-Day Honorary Chairperson System" last month and has been operating it regularly every month.
At the first plenary session of the 74th Yeoju City Council regular meeting, Kim Hyunsook, chairperson of the Jeomdong-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee, was appointed as the second one-day honorary chairperson. She attended the plenary session and experienced practical legislative activities.
In addition, to ensure citizens' right to know, Yeoju City Council operates a gallery attendance system. Citizens who wish to attend can apply through the council website or by visiting in person, and they can also watch a live broadcast of the proceedings via the council website.
