Seogu announced that it held a kickoff meeting for the "2025 Seogu Gender Statistics Research Project" on the 26th at the Seogu Civil Defense Real-World Training Center.

The meeting was attended by 26 participants, including Deputy District Mayor Baek Namin, gender policy experts, and heads of relevant departments. During the session, participants shared the necessity of gender statistics, detailed plans for the project, and exchanged a variety of opinions on the selection of future statistical indicators and survey methods.

This research project is the first of its kind to be undertaken by Seogu, with the goal of publishing a gender statistics report by the end of October. Seogu plans to analyze major social indicators such as population, family, childcare, and education from a gender perspective, and to use the findings as foundational data for developing various policies and administrative initiatives.

In particular, Seogu will survey residents to assess the level of gender equality awareness in the district, identify the level of gender sensitivity in the community, and further specify the direction for future policy-making.

Kang Misuk, head of the Gender and Child Welfare Division, stated, "Gender statistics are an important tool for objectively examining gender-based differences and addressing policy blind spots. Based on these statistics, I hope we can more precisely design the direction of Seogu as a women-friendly city and lay the foundation for a society where everyone is respected."
