Sae Eden Church to Host Veterans Appreciation Event in Washington, D.C. in June, Inviting 300 Participants An event inviting U.S. military veterans who participated in the Korean War, held last year in Texas, USA. Sae Eden Church

This year’s event will be held locally in the United States, taking into account that the average age of Korean War veterans is now in their late 90s. Approximately 300 people, including veterans residing in Washington, their families, families of the missing and fallen, Korean American veterans, and political and government figures, will be invited to a commemorative ceremony and dinner at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel. In addition, a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the "Wall of Remembrance" in the Korean War Veterans Memorial Park in Washington.

The domestic commemoration event will take place on June 22 in Yongin and Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, with 200 Korean military veterans and their families, as well as 5,000 participants including government officials, members of the National Assembly, local government officials from Yongin, local residents, and church members.

Sae Eden Church’s invitation event for veterans, now in its 19th year, has become the largest civilian-led event of its kind, inviting a cumulative total of about 7,300 people?including Korean military veterans, veterans and families from eight UN member countries that participated in the war (the United States, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, T?rkiye, Colombia, and Ethiopia), families of the missing, and bereaved families of the fallen?from 2007 to 2025. In addition, the church has produced four documentaries on the Korean War, which have been broadcast on KBS and SBS. In recognition of these efforts, Pastor So Kangseok and Sae Eden Church received the Individual and Group Awards, respectively, at the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs’ Veterans Culture Awards in 2015 and 2023.
