Lee Jangwoo, mayor of Daejeon, commented on the doubling of the market capitalization of Daejeon-based listed companies on the 26th, stating, "This is an achievement reflecting our aim to become a top-tier economic city," and added, "We must not become complacent and need to accelerate our efforts even further."

During the weekly work meeting he presided over that morning, Mayor Lee emphasized, "As of May 23, the number of listed companies in Daejeon has increased to 66."

According to the city, the market capitalization, which stood at 29.6541 trillion won at the end of June 2022, rose to 61.1903 trillion won as of May 22, representing an increase of approximately 106%.

Mayor Lee stated, "Daejeon is taking many paths that other cities have not, and the growth and pride of a city start with the attitude of its public officials."

He also mentioned, "Thirty thousand units of Kkumdori Ramen are currently being produced and prepared for launch on June 9," and requested, "I ask for the keen interest of public officials so that it can become a sensational success, symbolizing Daejeon's leap forward."

Additionally, he said, "There seems to be no region with a baseball fever as intense as Daejeon these days," and stressed, "Accordingly, we need to consider the renovation of the existing Hanwha Eagles baseball stadium. Ultimately, since the key issues are congestion and parking shortages, we must move beyond a fragmented approach and explore various ways to turn the area around the stadium into a park and address the parking problem."
