Korea Racing Authority's LetsRun Park Busan Gyeongnam (headed by Um Youngseok) has announced its horse racing schedule for June, consisting of a total of 56 races.
The races will be held over eight days during a four-week period. Of these, 40 races are reserved for Korean-bred horses, 15 are mixed races, and one is a graded stakes race.
Horse racing in June will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Fridays, there will be eight races at Busan Gyeongnam and eight simulcast races from Jeju. On Saturdays, there will be nine races from Seoul and seven simulcast races from Jeju. On Sundays, there will be six races at Busan Gyeongnam and eleven simulcast races from Seoul.
The first race on Fridays will start at 11:00 a.m. in Jeju and 11:25 a.m. in Busan Gyeongnam. On Saturdays and Sundays, Seoul races will begin at 10:35 a.m. The final race each day will be held at 6:00 p.m.
The main graded stakes race in June is the KNN Cup (G3, 1600m), which will be held at Busan Gyeongnam on June 1. This race is the final leg of the "Queens' Tour Series," and a fierce competition among the nation's top fillies and mares is expected.
Following this, the Owners' Cup (G3, 1600m) will take place on June 29, marking the first leg of the "Korea Premier Race" series. At Seoul Racecourse, the 19th Gyeonggi Province Governor's Cup (G3, 2000m) will be held on June 8, and the 25th Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Cup (G2, 2000m) is scheduled for June 15.
A Korea Racing Authority official stated, "In June, major graded stakes races featuring top domestic and international horses will be concentrated, drawing keen attention from fans and delivering fierce competition," adding, "We will foster a sound leisure culture through fair and transparent race operations."
