Umi Hope Foundation announced on the 26th that it held the "Heroes Family Healing Camp" as part of the "Heroes Family Program," a support project for the bereaved families of fallen and deceased military personnel.
This year's camp, now in its third year, was held over three days and two nights from the 23rd at Ananti at Cove in Gijang-gun, Busan. More than 50 participants from 19 families across the country took part. On the first day of the camp, Kang Jeongae, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, attended and spent time with the bereaved families. The "Heroes Family Healing Camp" is a heart-sharing program designed to comfort the families of heroes who dedicated themselves to the nation and to support their psychological and emotional recovery.

This camp focused on the sustainability of healing effects and the restoration of community by offering customized programs tailored to each participant group. Through specialized programs such as "Heart Care Therapy" for parents, "Sweet Appreciation" for children, and "Creating Our Family Bucket List" for families together, the camp achieved high participation and satisfaction rates.
The "Heroes Family Program" has been operated since 2022 by Umi Hope Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, ChildFund Korea, and one other organization, establishing a public-private partnership system. The program supports daily life recovery for bereaved families, emotional stability for children, and career growth. Umi Hope Foundation contributes 600 million won annually to provide individualized support for a total of about 200 people from 75 households with children under the age of 19.
Lee Choonseok, Secretary General of Umi Hope Foundation, said, "We will continue to expand the 'Heroes Family Program' with a wider variety of projects so that it can provide opportunities for healing and recovery to the bereaved families of fallen and deceased military personnel, and serve as a center for exchange and solidarity."
