Daesang Cheongjeongwon announced on May 26 that it has launched a new product, 'Kongdambaekmyeon Spicy Jjajangmyeon,' to strengthen its 'Kongdambaekmyeon' product lineup in preparation for the summer season.


Daesang Cheongjeongwon introduced 'Kongdambaekmyeon,' Korea's first soy milk noodle made with soy milk instead of wheat flour, in June 2021. The product has received positive feedback from consumers for its low calorie content?30 kcal per serving (150g of noodles), 0% sugar, gluten-free, and KETO certification, allowing for both taste and health in a convenient way. Since its launch, 'Kongdambaekmyeon' has recorded an average annual sales growth rate of about 106% through last year, and sales from January to April this year increased by approximately 30% compared to the same period last year, demonstrating steady growth.

The newly released 'Kongdambaekmyeon Spicy Jjajangmyeon' contains 110 kcal per serving, which is about one-sixth the calories of regular instant jjajang ramen. The jjajang sauce is made by stir-frying shallots and chunjang together to create an authentic jjajang flavor, with added spiciness from Cheongjeongwon Sunchang gochujang and domestic Cheongyang chili peppers. In particular, Daesang's proprietary technology was used to add its self-produced 'allulose,' significantly reducing both calorie and sugar content.


With this launch, the Kongdambaekmyeon lineup now includes a total of seven varieties: six convenient meal kits with different sauces?Bibim Guksu, Dongchimi Naengguksu, Nutty Soybean Guksu, Anchovy Guksu, and Vietnamese-style Guksu?as well as the 'Kongdambaekmyeon Sari,' a plain noodle product for enjoying lightly and healthily. The Kongdambaekmyeon Sari can be paired with various sauces or dishes according to individual preferences.


Yoon Jeongwon, Head of Frozen Convenience Food CM at Daesang, stated, "Thanks to the enthusiastic response from consumers who want both taste and health in a convenient way, we are introducing the new 'Spicy Jjajangmyeon' that can be enjoyed without concerns about calories or sugar." He added, "We will continue to expand the differentiated Kongdambaekmyeon menu lineup to reflect evolving health consumption trends and diverse consumer preferences."
