9th Female Union President Kim Mija Inaugurated
Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on May 26 that it held the 'Hamyang County Volunteer Fire Brigade Union President Inauguration and Retirement Ceremony' in the main conference room on the third floor of the Hamyang Fire Station.
The event was attended by County Governor Jin Byeongyeong, County Council Chairman Kim Yuntaek, Provincial Assembly Members Kim Jaeung and Lee Chundeok, Fire Chief Son Daehyeop, and over 100 volunteer firefighters. The attendees expressed their appreciation for the outgoing presidents' dedication and congratulated the newly inaugurated presidents.

Through this inauguration and retirement ceremony, Park Seongi, the 10th male union president, and Jang Geumhyang, the 8th female union president, who have contributed to the development of the volunteer fire brigade by taking the lead at various disaster sites in the region, stepped down from their positions. Choi Hyeonggil was inaugurated as the 11th male union president, and Kim Mija as the 9th female union president.
The Hamyang County Volunteer Fire Brigade plays a key role as a guardian of community safety, supporting fire suppression, rescue, and emergency activities, as well as conducting fire prevention campaigns and volunteer work throughout the region.
County Governor Jin Byeongyeong said, "I deeply thank Presidents Park Seongi and Jang Geumhyang for their dedication to community safety despite challenging circumstances," adding, "I hope that, under the leadership of the new presidents Choi Hyeonggil and Kim Mija, the volunteer fire brigade will continue to earn the trust of the residents. I also ask for close cooperation with the county administration, not only in disaster prevention but also in creating a safer Hamyang."
