Guro District Provides Safety Devices for Single-Person Households and Stalking Victims

Applications Accepted from June 2 to 16

Guro District Provides Safety Devices for Single-Person Households and Stalking Victims

Guro District (District Mayor Jang Inhong) will provide residential safety devices for crime prevention to single-person households and victims of stalking in the area.

The 'Safe Equipment Support Project' was established to create a safer living environment by installing crime prevention devices in households that are vulnerable in terms of residential security, specifically single-person households and victims of stalking. The project utilizes digital devices closely related to daily life to enable rapid response in emergency situations.

The support equipment is tailored separately for single-person households and stalking victims.

Single-person households will receive the 'Safe Home Set,' which includes a basic front door safety device, and can choose between a smart doorbell or a home closed-circuit television (CCTV) system. A total of 100 households are eligible for support, and applications are open regardless of gender or housing type.

Victims of stalking will receive, in addition to the 'Safe Home Set,' a voice-activated wireless emergency bell and an electronic lock (digital door lock). The voice-activated wireless emergency bell is equipped with a police reporting function and will be provided separately to two households selected through recommendations from the Guro Police Station.

Applications will be accepted from June 2 to June 16.

Single-person households can apply by visiting the district office's Welfare Policy Division or by email. Required documents include a resident registration certificate and a lease contract. Young people preparing for independence will be given priority if they submit a certificate of protection termination. Victims of stalking can apply at any time through a recommendation from the Guro Police Station.

The district plans to review applicants in June and install the equipment sequentially from July to November. While self-installation is the basic principle, support is available if needed. An internet environment such as Wi-Fi is required to connect smart devices. For more details, contact the Welfare Policy Division of the district office or visit the official website.

Jang Inhong, Mayor of Guro District, said, "We expect this support project to provide practical protection measures for groups vulnerable to crime and to help create a safer residential environment," adding, "We will continue to build a comprehensive welfare and safety network in the future."
