Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province announced the start of a vibrant festival with the opening ceremony of the '2025 Jarasum Flower Festa (Spring)' held on May 24 at Namdo, Jarasum.

The opening ceremony was attended by key figures including Seo Taewon, Governor of Gapyeong County, Kim Kyungsoo, Chairman of the County Council, council members, Lim Gwanghyun, member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly, as well as heads of local organizations and institutions, and residents, who all gathered to mark the beginning of the festival together.
The Jarasum Flower Festa will take place over 23 days until June 15 at Namdo, Jarasum. Visitors can enjoy a variety of attractions, including spring flower gardens arranged by theme, diverse performances and hands-on experiences, and local agricultural product markets.

The opening ceremony began with a pre-event performance by the fusion gugak group 'Yeon,' followed by a flower magic show, an opening performance, and a celebratory concert by the popera group 'Attirang Voice,' which further heightened the festive atmosphere. Afterwards, distinguished guests and attendees toured the garden in full bloom, adding to the significance of the festival.
In his congratulatory speech, Governor Seo Taewon stated, "The Jarasum Flower Festa has been selected as Gyeonggi Province's representative tourism festival for three consecutive years, playing a crucial role in establishing Gapyeong as a tourist city. I hope everyone visiting Gapyeong will enjoy a relaxing and healing time, appreciating the flowers with their loved ones."

This year's festival, held under the theme 'Connecting Communication and Harmony, Nature and People through Flowers,' features a variety of spaces such as the Rainbow Garden filled with spring flowers like poppies, canola, and sky sunflowers, the Friendship Garden, and the Hydrangea Garden, all expected to captivate visitors. Gapyeong County plans to further develop Jarasum into a premier year-round tourist destination through this festival.
