Kim Moonsoo Visits Sangju: "If Lee Jaemyung Becomes President, Won't It Be a Presidential Dictatorship?"

Targeting Voters in the Conservative Stronghold
Criticizing the Impeachment Led by the Democratic Party

Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, visited Sangju, Gyeongbuk on the 24th and directly criticized, "If Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, becomes president, won't it turn into a presidential dictatorship?"

During his campaign at Pungmul Market in Sangju, Gyeongbuk on this day, Kim said, "If Lee becomes president, he will control the National Assembly and also have control over the judiciary, including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court," and questioned, "Wouldn't this immediately lead to a presidential dictatorship or autocracy?"

Kim continued, "He (Lee) impeached all the prosecutors who investigated him and also impeached the Prosecutor General," adding, "When Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Heedae remanded a case with a guilty verdict from the Supreme Court, Lee complained, 'Why are you doing this to me?'"

He further criticized, "(Lee says) 'I will appoint a special prosecutor for Chief Justice Cho, hold a hearing, and impeach him.' He is even trying to control and shake up the Chief Justice."

Afterward, Kim plans to continue his campaign by visiting Gimcheon, Gumi, and Chilgok in Gyeongbuk in sequence. In Gumi, he is scheduled to pay respects at the birthplace of former President Park Chunghee. At 7:30 p.m., he will visit the residence of former President Park Geunhye in Dalseong-gun, Daegu.

Meanwhile, Cho Kyungtae, a pro-Park faction lawmaker of the People Power Party, joined Kim's central election campaign committee as a co-chairman on this day. Although Yang Hyangja, a former lawmaker who supported former leader Han Donghoon, is already serving as a co-chair, this is the first time a sitting pro-Park faction lawmaker has joined the central election campaign committee.
