Shin Hyunyoung, spokesperson for the election committee, said in a briefing that, according to a CBS No Cut News report, Seol made a series of abusive comments such as, "Do I look like someone who would join a union?" and "Unions are radical, tough, and unattractive," thereby openly inciting hatred and prejudice against unions. Shin added, "Such remarks are typical of Kim's spouse, who has blatantly disparaged the Serious Accidents Punishment Act."

Shin further stated, "At this point, this is not just anti-labor but labor-hating," and added, "If you intend to spread distorted perceptions and discriminatory views about labor, you should keep your mouth shut."

Shin also said, "Just imagining the future that Kim, who insults workers and tramples on labor rights, envisions for Korea's workplaces is horrifying and bleak," and called for Kim to withdraw his candidacy.
