"Came Out to Excuse His Hotel Economy Theory... Truly Pitiful"
Targeting Lee Jaemyung: "Irresponsible Politics Must Disappear"
Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform New Party, criticized Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, on May 23, stating, "He once again proved himself to be a candidate who shamelessly lies in front of many citizens watching the live broadcast."
After the second debate for the 21st presidential election, held at the KBS studio in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Lee Junseok continued his criticism of Lee Jaemyung, telling reporters, "He lied again today."
Lee Junseok said, "When I asked Lee Jaemyung about his claims regarding election fraud, he lied by saying it was because of the National Intelligence Service comment case. As I posted on Facebook, it has been confirmed that he has repeatedly advocated for manual vote counting."
Earlier in the debate, in response to Lee Junseok's question about whether he had supported suspicions of election fraud in the past, Lee Jaemyung explained, "I called it election fraud because the National Intelligence Service manipulated public opinion through online comments."
Lee Junseok went on to say, "Lee Jaemyung once again tried to use the moment to make excuses for his hotel economy theory. It is truly pitiful." He added, "I also asked him to explain how he would secure the budget for the caregiving system he promised, but he dodged the question. This kind of irresponsible politics must disappear."
Lee Junseok further targeted Lee Jaemyung, saying, "Even on energy policy, he is ultimately showing an ideologically biased stance. He is wrapped up in the delusion that people are trying to label him as pro-China. I believe that people who are caught up in such delusions are extremely dangerous from a policy perspective."
Regarding Lee Jaemyung's question about the possibility of a unified candidacy between Lee Junseok and Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, Lee Junseok responded, "Isn't that just another of Lee Jaemyung's delusions?" He strongly criticized Lee Jaemyung, saying, "The mere fact that he used time during this valuable discussion on social integration, climate and environment, healthcare, and pensions to make his own political assertions shows that Lee Jaemyung is not the answer."
In response to People Power Party Emergency Response Committee Chairman Kim Yongtae's earlier proposal to Lee Junseok for a joint government as a way of unifying candidates, Lee Junseok again drew a clear line, saying, "I neither know nor care what officials from the People Power Party have said."
Meanwhile, regarding recent poll results, Lee Junseok said, "A solid upward trend is appearing," and analyzed, "As this presidential election approaches its final stage, it is time for the public to make a decisive shift in showing who is the most suitable opponent to Lee Jaemyung."
