Thorough Preparation for the Three Major Summer Risks: Heavy Rain, Heat Waves, and Precipitation

Jinhae District of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, held the "2025 Summer Season Comprehensive Citizen Safety Measures Report Meeting" in the district office's main conference room on May 23.

This comprehensive plan, which will be implemented for four months from June 2 to September 30, consists of a total of 28 detailed measures across four areas: citizen life safety measures, measures to resolve citizen inconveniences, public health and hygiene management measures, and energy-saving measures.

In particular, the core of the plan is the "citizen life safety measures" to prepare for summer disasters such as heavy rain and typhoons. The district will focus on practical safety management strategies, including the operation of an administrative support team during disasters, the establishment of a rapid response system for heavy rain and strong winds, and a comprehensive maintenance of stormwater drains.

In addition, the district aims to minimize citizen inconvenience through measures for household waste collection and environmental management, as well as marine waste collection and marine pollution prevention. Alongside public sector energy-saving practices, a power-saving campaign will also be conducted in anticipation of a surge in the use of cooling appliances.

Jung Hyunseop, head of Jinhae District Office, stated, "We will take a proactive approach to protect residents from various natural disasters during the summer season, and maintain close cooperation among departments to ensure that all measures are thoroughly implemented," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that all residents of Jinhae can enjoy a safe and refreshing summer."
