The county announced on the 23rd that, through this agreement, it has secured a budget of 1 billion KRW for the Jucheon-myeon Happy Housing construction project, which is expected to accelerate the progress of the project.
The Jucheon-myeon Happy Housing project, with a total project cost of 5.8 billion KRW, will begin in earnest this year, starting with land acquisition, and aims for completion in October 2027.
The county plans to complete the Happy Housing projects in Baegun-myeon and Seongsu-myeon sequentially by the end of this year, and the Happy Housing in Maryeong-myeon next year. The strategy is to provide a stable residential environment through the supply of Happy Housing, thereby helping young people and newlyweds settle in the region, attracting returnees to farming and rural areas, as well as families participating in rural education, and ultimately overcoming the crisis of regional depopulation.
Governor Jeon Choonseong emphasized, "We will continue to expand the supply of Happy Housing to attract population inflow, and we will make every effort to increase the resident population and revitalize the local economy through this."
This cooperation between Jinan County and the Korea Water Resources Corporation Yongdam Dam Branch is expected not only to be limited to the Happy Housing project, but also to serve as a collaborative model for various future regional development and resident welfare improvement initiatives.
