NH-Amundi Asset Management announced on May 23 that it had donated 180 sacks of rice worth 10 million won to the Financial and Office Ubuntu Foundation to support low-income youth households.
The Financial and Office Ubuntu Foundation is a public interest foundation established by the National Office and Financial Workers' Union to provide practical assistance to socially disadvantaged groups.
The handover ceremony was held on May 20 at the Yongsan Welfare Center in Seoul and was attended by Gil Jeongseop, CEO of NH-Amundi Asset Management; Shin Pilgyun, Chairman of the Financial and Office Ubuntu Foundation; Cho Yonggeun, CEO of the Seoul Regional Education Welfare Center Council; and Lee Jaejin, Chairman of the National Office and Financial Workers' Union.
The rice donated by NH-Amundi Asset Management will be distributed to youth households, households with disabled family members, and socially withdrawn youth households who use education welfare centers in 15 districts across Seoul.
This initiative was carried out to participate in the Pan-Nonghyup Rice Consumption Promotion Campaign, which aims to help farmers and rural communities struggling with declining rice consumption and falling rice prices, following the efforts made last year.
Gil Jeongseop, CEO of NH-Amundi Asset Management, said, "Labor and management have joined forces for the rice consumption promotion campaign," and added, "I hope that young people will eat rice and, with the strength from good meals, become healthy members of society."
Since 2024, NH-Amundi Asset Management has been continuously conducting the 'Eat Breakfast Campaign' as well as donating rice to vulnerable groups to promote rice consumption.
