Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province is moving forward with the development of its own online platform tailored specifically for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners.

On the 23rd, the city announced that starting next month, it will launch the "Gwangmyeong Win-Win Platform" to support customized online marketing and the expansion of sales channels. The city plans to complete the construction of the platform and begin its operation by January next year.

The city explained that it decided to build the platform to help local SMEs and small business owners successfully enter the online market, increase sales, and strengthen their competitiveness amid rapidly changing digital environments and distribution structures.

The platform will provide information about local businesses and support the activation of online sales. On the newly established platform, users will be able to easily view at a glance the locations, operating hours, and main products handled by participating businesses. Consumers will be able to conveniently search for businesses by location, commercial district, or product category.

Businesses that operate on online open markets such as Naver Smart Store, Coupang, and 11st, or run their own online shops, will be supported so that the platform can connect users directly to product purchases. For businesses without online purchase channels, the platform will link to their social media or blog promotional channels to increase online exposure and enhance consumer accessibility.

The city will also select around 70 SMEs wishing to join the platform and provide up to 2.5 million won in customized online marketing support for each. In addition, dedicated categories will be created for socially considerate enterprises, such as social economy companies, companies run by people with disabilities, and women-owned businesses, to encourage citizens to actively use products from these businesses.

The platform will also utilize various channels, including online banners and a notice board, to provide information on SME and small business support policies, as well as practical information for citizens.

Park Seungwon, mayor of Gwangmyeong, stated, "We will thoroughly develop the Gwangmyeong Win-Win Platform so that it not only supports the growth of local SMEs and small business owners, but also promotes mutual prosperity with citizens and revitalizes the local economy."
