Is Your Stomach Healthy?

Songpa-gu to Hold Health Lecture at District Office on June 4 at 2 p.m.
Topics Include Helicobacter pylori, Stomach Cancer Prevention, and Stomach Health Management
Featuring Professor Jung Hoon Yong, Renowned Upper Gastrointestinal Specialist from Asan Medical Center

Is Your Stomach Healthy?

Songpa-gu District in Seoul (District Mayor Seo Gangseok) announced that it will hold its second health promotion special lecture of the year, titled "Stomach Health Day: Is Your Stomach Healthy?", at the district office's main auditorium on June 4 at 2:00 p.m.

The district has been organizing the "Health Promotion Special Lecture" series since last year to deliver accurate health information and improve residents' health levels. The lectures have covered a wide range of topics with high expertise, including slow aging, hypertension, cerebral aneurysm, and shingles in April this year, receiving positive responses from residents.

The theme of next month's lecture is "stomach health." Symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders such as indigestion, heartburn, and abdominal pain, which most people experience at least once, can lower quality of life and have various impacts on daily activities. If not managed properly and in a timely manner, these symptoms can become chronic or even lead to cancer, making prevention, treatment, and management crucial.

Professor Jung Hoon Yong, a renowned specialist in upper gastrointestinal tract diseases from the Department of Gastroenterology at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, will be the guest speaker. Professor Jung will provide easy-to-understand explanations on Helicobacter pylori, stomach cancer prevention, and proper stomach health management. He will also address residents' questions about stomach health during a Q&A session.

The special lecture is jointly organized by the Songpa-gu Public Health Center and the Helicobacter Microbiome Research Society. It is open to all local residents interested in health, and there is no participation fee. Those wishing to attend can register in advance by calling the Songpa-gu Public Health Center's Health Promotion Department (02-2147-3484) or by using the QR code to register online.

Seo Gangseok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, "In line with the era of longevity, we have prepared a lecture where residents can directly receive reliable health information from an expert. Moving forward, we will continue to launch a variety of initiatives that reflect the high level of public interest in health and help improve residents' health levels."
