Kim Moonsoo: "Korea Faces Threat of Dictatorship... Does the Democratic Party Truly Represent Democracy?"

Strong Criticism of Democratic Party at Bucheon Rally
Points Out "Impeachment of Prosecutors Who Investigated Them"
"Says, 'You Are My Bulletproof Vest'"

On May 22, Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, stated, "The Republic of Korea is facing a threat of falling into dictatorship," and declared, "I will become a democratic president."

During a campaign rally at Bucheon Station in Gyeonggi Province that day, Kim criticized, "Does the Democratic Party of Korea truly represent democracy? They impeach prosecutors who investigate them. They impeach the head of the Board of Audit and Inspection who audits them. They say they will impeach Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae who presides over their trials. They even say they will hold a confirmation hearing for the Chief Justice."

He continued, "Who can stop this bulletproof legislation, bulletproof impeachment, and bulletproof dictatorship?" and added, "With your great unity and your great struggle, we will surely break down this bulletproof dictatorship."

Introducing his family background, Kim said, "These days, there are over 500,000 young people who have graduated from university but are neither employed nor seeking jobs, simply resting," and pledged, "I will become a jobs president who creates employment opportunities for young people."

He also mentioned the GTX (Great Train Express) and other transportation projects, saying, "I will become a transportation president."

Targeting Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party candidate who has been wearing a bulletproof vest due to assassination threats, Kim remarked, "Have you seen a candidate walking around in a bulletproof vest? I don't even have bulletproof glass. What protects me is not a bulletproof vest or bulletproof glass, but all of you."

Meanwhile, Kim was accompanied at the campaign event by his wife, Seol Nanyeong, his daughter, and his son-in-law.
