18 Types of Domestic and Imported Beer at Half Price
Up to 90,000 Won Off on 60 Types of Whisky
Emart announced on May 22 that it will be holding a discount event on approximately 150 types of alcoholic beverages at stores nationwide until May 29.
First, Emart is offering around 18 types of domestic and imported beers in a variety of sizes, with discounts of up to 50% off per item. While previous beer promotions mostly focused on 500ml sizes, this event features a wide range of options, from small 330ml cans to large 740ml containers.
For large-sized beers, customers can choose any four from six varieties?'Cass 740ml (can)', 'Budweiser 740ml (can)', 'Stella 740ml (can)', 'Asahi 640ml (bottle)', 'Tsingtao Lager 640ml (bottle)', and 'Tsingtao Lager 710ml (can)'?and purchase them for 11,000 won. For small-sized beers, a 3,000 won discount is offered when buying two packs among seven types: 'Somersby (330ml*6)', 'Tsingtao Lager (330ml*6)', 'Heineken/Heineken Silver (330ml*6)', 'Tiger Radler/Lager (330ml*6)', and 'San Miguel (330ml*6)'.
There is also a mix-and-match promotion for customers who want to try various kinds of beer. Customers can select any six cans from '1664 Lager (500ml)', 'Paulaner Munich Lager (500ml)', 'Coopers Pale Ale, Stout (each 440ml)', and 'Kirin Ichiban Sugar-Free (500ml)' for 9,900 won. This brings the price per can down from 3,300 won to 1,650 won, which is about half the regular price.
In addition, customers can receive up to 90,000 won off when purchasing any of about 60 types of whisky and paying in full with the event card. Notably, 'Jack Daniel's BIB Rye (700ml)' is being introduced for the first time through this event as an Emart offline exclusive. This follows the launch of 'Jack Daniel's Bonded (700ml)' in March, making it the second product in the premium BIB series from Jack Daniel's at Emart. With a high rye content of 70% and additional maple charcoal filtration, this whisky offers a more complex and spicy flavor compared to regular Jack Daniel's whiskies. When paying in full with the event card, the price is reduced from the regular 69,800 won to 62,800 won.
Other premium whiskies are also available at discounted prices, such as 'Lost Distillery 5 types: Dalaruan/Tuimor/Jericho/Lochit/Stratheden (each 700ml)' at 39,800 won, which is 50% off the regular price, and 'Tomintoul 16 Years (700ml)' at 88,000 won, a 90,000 won discount from the regular price of 178,000 won.
For customers who prefer traditional Korean alcohol, there is also a Makgeolli promotion. All fresh Makgeolli (excluding sterilized Makgeolli) is available at a 10% discount when purchasing two or more. Customers can enjoy benefits on a total of about 60 types of Makgeolli, ranging from well-known brands like Kooksoondang and Jangsu Makgeolli to regional favorites such as Haechang Makgeolli, Hanguk Minsokchon Makgeolli, and Jeju Rice Makgeolli.
Myung Yongjin, Emart's alcoholic beverage category manager, said, "We are diversifying our alcoholic beverage promotions and actively introducing exclusive products to meet the increasingly segmented drinking preferences of our customers and the trends of drinking at home and drinking alone. We hope this will be an opportunity for customers to enjoy 'their own drink' at more reasonable prices."
