Fostering Talent, Field Training, and Joint Research
Jeonju University (President Park Jinbae) has signed a business agreement for mutual cooperation with Sajo Daerim Co., Ltd., a comprehensive food company and a core affiliate of Sajo Group, which operates in various food and beverage businesses including seafood processing and food manufacturing.

According to Jeonju University on May 22, the signing ceremony, held the previous day at the university’s main building, was attended by Kim Sanghoon, CEO of Sajo Daerim Co., Ltd., Park Kibum, Director of the Comprehensive Food Research Institute, Park Jinbae, President of Jeonju University, Yoon Chanyoung, Vice President for External Affairs, Han Donguk, Head of the RISE Project Group, as well as faculty members of the Department of Korean Cuisine and other officials from both institutions.
Through this agreement, the two institutions plan to cooperate in the following areas: fostering and nurturing food-related professionals; providing field training and employment support for current students and graduates; conducting joint industry-academia research and technical guidance; supporting and sharing research facilities and equipment. In addition, they plan to promote cooperation for the development of the local community and the industrial ecosystem.
After the signing ceremony, Sajo Daerim officials toured the facilities of the Department of Korean Cuisine at Jeonju University, experiencing the excellent educational environment and practical training system firsthand. They directly observed the field-oriented nature and practical linkages of Korean cuisine education and discussed concrete directions for future industry-academia cooperation programs.
Kim Sanghoon, CEO of Sajo Daerim Co., Ltd., said, "Through this agreement, we expect that Sajo Daerim will be greatly empowered to become a global company leading food culture through change and innovation." He added, "We will strive to nurture field-oriented, practical talent and to contribute further to the development of healthy and innovative foods and the local community based on industry-academia cooperation."
President Park Jinbae stated, "I am very pleased that this agreement will allow Jeonju University and Sajo Daerim to pool their capabilities and resources to contribute to the development of the local community and industry." He continued, "Through mutual cooperation, I hope that we can provide Jeonju University students with more practical experience and growth opportunities, and create a model of exemplary industry-academia cooperation where the region and companies grow together."
Meanwhile, Jeonju University has once again proven its status as a leading regional innovation hub by securing the largest project budget among private universities in North Jeolla Province through the 'Jeonbuk RISE Project.' Through this, Jeonju University plans to play a key role in nurturing local talent and advancing the regional industrial ecosystem.
