First "I Am Gimhae Solo" Couple to Get Married

For the first time, a couple who met through "I Am Gimhae Solo," a matchmaking event for young men and women organized as a citizen-oriented population policy by Gimhae City, South Gyeongsang Province, is getting married.
According to Gimhae City on May 22, the groom-to-be, Mr. Kim, and the bride-to-be, Ms. Yoo, visited the city office the previous day to announce their upcoming marriage. They first met last spring at the "3rd Season of I Am Gimhae Solo - Cherry Blossom... Cherry Blossom~Some," an event hosted by the city. At that time, five couples out of twenty single men and women were successfully matched. Since then, Mr. Kim and Ms. Yoo developed a relationship and will hold their wedding ceremony on June 14.

Mr. Kim said, "I am grateful to have met my lifelong partner through 'I Am Gimhae Solo.' It is an honor to participate in such a meaningful event, and I hope that many more couples will be formed through 'I Am Gimhae Solo' in the future."
"I Am Gimhae Solo" was designed to provide single men and women with natural and safe opportunities to meet, thereby fostering positive perceptions of dating and marriage. It also aims to build a healthy network by encouraging communication and relationship-building among the younger generation. Out of a total of twenty pairs who participated in the third and fourth seasons, nine couples have been formed. The city is also looking forward to the second and third couples getting married.
In the first half of this year, the "5th Season of I Am Gimhae Solo - Romantic Summer Ring" will be held over two days from June 21 to 22. Considering that many people have been unable to participate in the past due to high competition, the number of participants will be doubled from twenty to forty starting with the fifth season. At the same time, the selection criteria will be strengthened to choose participants who are genuinely committed to meeting someone. In addition, to increase the matching success rate, the age groups will be divided by season: the fifth season will be for those aged 27 to 35, and the sixth season will be for those aged 32 to 42.

Going forward, we will continue to work to establish a hopeful birth ecosystem through Gimhae City's unique six-package support system (meeting, marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, and housing) to address the low birth rate."
On May 21, in celebration of Couples' Day, the city distributed congratulatory gifts (Todugi travel luggage tags) to the first 250 newlywed couples who registered their marriage. This is a new initiative being implemented this year, reflecting citizen policy proposals, to support newlyweds as they begin their new lives and to encourage marriage and childbirth. In Gimhae, an average of 160 couples register their marriage each month, and any newlywed couple with at least one spouse registered as a resident of Gimhae is eligible to receive the gift.
The city also provides a booklet containing information on various support programs when couples register their marriage, including: interest support for newlywed jeonse loans, support for the first home remodeling for newlyweds, interest support for newlywed home purchase loans, support for jeonse deposit return guarantee fees, folic acid supplements for couples preparing for pregnancy, free early pregnancy tests, and nutritional supplements for pregnant women.
