According to the county on the 22nd, with this selection, Sunchang County plans to officially launch the 'Sunchang Happiness Plus Town Project,' which will integrate housing, welfare, and employment.

To secure this selection, the county systematically prepared for the contest project from the beginning of the year, holding two working-level council meetings, a resident briefing session for the project area, and a preliminary consultation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Choi Youngil, the county governor, personally visited the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to actively explain the necessity and justification of the project, gaining the empathy of ministry officials. In addition, Park Heeseung, the local National Assembly member, is reported to have made significant contributions to the selection by providing full support and cooperation.

The project site is located in Sunhwa-ri 720, Sunchang-eup, with a total area of approximately 38,605 square meters. Through this project, a total of 78 housing units will be supplied, including 20 single-family homes, 40 public rental units, and 18 police residence units. The project will also promote various living services, such as a community center, emergency safety assurance services, and customized care services for the elderly.

This residential complex development reflects the recent housing demand. In fact, Sunchang County has seen a steady increase in population over the past three years, making it urgent to secure stable housing for the elderly and to attract young people and returnees to the area through tailored housing policies.

Accordingly, the county identified actual demand through surveys and resident briefings, developed a residential complex plan suitable for the local situation after expert consultation, and aims to create a future-oriented residential complex that goes beyond simple housing supply to include welfare and employment through this contest project.

If the project proceeds as planned, it is expected to become a leading example of a rural area overcoming the population decline crisis by establishing sustainable residential conditions with urban-style living infrastructure.

Governor Choi said, "This selection is expected to serve as a turning point that brings new vitality to the region," adding, "We will create a Sunchang where all residents can be happy by improving residential conditions that people can truly feel."
