During the meeting, participants walked to major urban development project sites, including the Choji Station area development project, the integrated development project for the underground section of the Ansan Line, and the Jungang-daero green corridor redevelopment project, and discussed concrete implementation plans.
Regarding the Choji Station area development project, participants discussed ways to create residential, commercial, and public facilities in a multi-layered manner. In the integrated development section of the Ansan Line underground project, they focused on ways to efficiently utilize the space above the railway.
At the on-site meeting, participants also inspected the target area for the Jungang-daero green corridor redevelopment project, located across from the leading section of the Ansan Line underground project. City officials reviewed measures to revitalize local businesses, which have been facing difficulties due to disrupted accessibility and a lack of parking spaces resulting from the creation of green spaces. The city plans to reorganize the existing aging green corridor into a space for parking and rest, creating a "new connecting space" where residents, visitors, and merchants can come together.
Do Wonjung, Director of Planning and Economy for Ansan City, said, "We will enhance the execution of major development projects and achieve results that citizens can feel by strengthening interdepartmental cooperation and communication with citizens."
Meanwhile, under its eighth popularly elected administration, Ansan City has been continuously holding on-site executive meetings. The city has previously visited major sites such as Korea University Ansan Hospital, the Wongok-dong area, Youth Mall, Ansan Office of Education, Ansan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Baegun Park, Daebudo area, and Sadong area to discuss ways to collaborate among key institutions.
