Seventeen Exemplary Hunters Deployed
Jangseong County in Jeonnam announced on the 22nd that it will operate a "Nuisance Wildlife Damage Prevention Team" to prevent damage to residents and crops caused by wild animals such as wild boars and water deer.
The damage prevention team consists of 17 exemplary hunters who were selected through a recent public recruitment process. When a report of wildlife damage is received, the team is immediately dispatched to the site to carry out capture activities. The team will operate until May 2026.
Before the official start of activities, Jangseong County conducted training for the damage prevention team on May 9, together with the Jangseong Police Station and the Wildlife Management Association. The training covered compliance with capture permit requirements, firearm safety rules, and prevention measures against African Swine Fever (ASF) in wild boars.
Kim Youngmi, head of the Environment Division, emphasized, "Above all, safety is the most important," and urged, "Please strictly comply with all relevant regulations during capture activities."
