The released footage shows a child wearing only a diaper running into a supermarket in Seoul. Startled by the sight, the supermarket owner immediately called the police, reporting that "a child entered the store naked." Responding to the call, the police dressed the child in a coat, carefully held the child in their arms to prevent any injury, and brought the child safely to the police station.
Afterward, the police began searching to identify the child and locate their guardian. At the police station, they confirmed the child's identity through fingerprint scanning, while outside, they analyzed surveillance (CCTV) footage from the control center to trace the child's movements. In addition, police questioned nearby residents about the child's parents and used the police car's loudspeaker to broadcast announcements.

Thanks to these efforts by the police officers, the child was safely returned to their mother. It is reported that the child's mother, who was startled to discover her child missing after briefly falling asleep, heard the police announcement and immediately rushed to the police station.
A police official stated, "The mother registered the child's fingerprints in the fingerprint registration system before returning home," emphasizing the importance of pre-registering fingerprints. The "pre-registration system for fingerprints and other information" is a policy that allows guardians to register the fingerprints, photos, and personal details of children under 18, dementia patients, and individuals with intellectual, autistic, or mental disabilities in advance. If a person goes missing, the registered information can be used for rapid identification and to help reunite them with their guardian.
Fingerprint registration can be completed by visiting a nearby police station in person or remotely through the "Safe Dream" app. When visiting the police station, guardians are required to bring identification and documents such as a resident registration certificate or a family relationship certificate.
