Hyundai Glovis Successfully Holds 'Port Partner Co-Growth Conference'

Hyundai Glovis announced on May 22 that it held the 'Port Partner Co-Growth Conference' to discuss ways to strengthen transportation competitiveness and promote mutual growth with its partner companies working at the forefront of port operations.

From May 8 to 9, Hyundai Glovis hosted its regular co-growth conference at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Yeosu, bringing together 70 participants, including employees from its ship management subsidiary G-Marine Service and 16 partner companies in the shipping sector.

During the conference, practical measures for mutual growth were discussed with working-level staff from partner companies. In particular, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on competitive maritime transportation and the prevention of accidents within ports.

Specifically, the agenda included: reviewing accident cases to prevent disasters, sharing policies for safe transportation, and sharing and improving the challenges faced on the front lines.

There was also a detailed discussion on the electrification of the 'EV-Drill Lance,' a specialized piece of equipment for extinguishing ship fires. In March, Hyundai Glovis supplied EV-Drill Lances to all of its car carriers (both chartered and owned vessels), and is currently conducting research to electrify each component so that remote control becomes possible.

Hyundai Glovis has been holding the 'Port Partner Co-Growth Conference' since 2016. The company has continued the event based on the belief that building consensus on site is crucial due to the unique environment of ports, and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the conference.
